Exercise??!! Ain’t no body got time for dat!

Exercise? Who has time for that?

If I had just 30 minutes extra in a day I would use them for the highest priority of all items on my mom-to-do list – SLEEP.Then Jack Daniels. Perhaps some bar-be-queing or getting a cold POP, as Sweet Brown would say… (she would also say you should watch her video to get you pumped up for that rip-roaring workout you’re about to partake in…)

So when I think of trying to find 1 hour to work out, drive to the gym (ok lies, I have one in my building tee hehe), get dressed FOR the gym (getting dressed at ALL is an accomplishment some days) AND sneak away from the kid – all while he WONT be hungry and I won’t have to pump these Double D’s? HAHAHAHA that’s almost a whole days planning! Nice Try!

;

So I took my top 3 reasons why I don’t exercise anymore:

1. Finding time – Takes so long to actually GET to a gym (If I’m spending that much time getting ready it better be to happy hour)
2. Not feeling guilty to TAKE the time – cause it takes so much (If I’m spending that time away from Maximo it better be a happy hour for the books)
3. Being completely exhausted that the last thing I want to do is work out (Happy hours always turn into all-nighters)

And Found how they CAN:

1. Life by the Bells. Dom and I go way back – into my bar-tending days, so he knows 6 am was more my bedtime than wake-up time… but doing our training sessions at 7 am, maximizing my efforts in only 20-30 minutes via SKYPE from my LIVING ROOM is every mother’s dream workout – roll out of bed, everyone is still sleeping – the whole house (aka 3 sq feet!!) to yourself, bust out a workout with a trainer making sure you don’t slack and TRUST ME – you WILL have energy for the rest of the day. I feel so bad ass on the days I work out, just because I can’t believe how much strength I actually have when someone pushes you to do so. Me a slacker? Please – what do YOU do when nobody is watching…tisk tisk.

And now I am done, sipping my morning coffee by 8:05 am – ahh. Bring on the day.

;

2. Now I don’t feel guilty for taking a whole day to get in one tiny workout, take time away from Maximo, or feel guilty at the end of the day for NOT finding the time for myself. I am literally taking about 40 minutes. It’s actually a double bonus because how many of you walk around allll day thinking – okay, I’ll get a workout in, I SHOULD get a workout in, Okay, once the baby wakes up , okay, once Claudio gets home…..and then feeling fat and crappy at 11 pm when you crawl into bed exhausted with no workout YET AGAIN. If you bust it out first thing in the AM, you don’t have to think about it FOR THE REST OF THE DAY! It’s DONE! Like ripping off a band-aid people!

3. Like #2, by the time I HAVE time to workout, it’s about 11 pm - the baby is asleep, dinner is done, dishes are clean, the House finally came to an answer for the Fiscal Cliff, there are no more taxes in the world and world peace has been achieved- and well….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I fell asleep on my keyboard again. The last thing I can think about is even trying a yoga downward dog in my pjs – PJs? Who has time for THAT! So again, getting it out of the way first thing in the morning means you now have plenty of time to save the world today. And some muscles to look good while you do it -—->;

    I feel the same way. After a long day the last thing I want to do is work out.
